Not the same weight or quality as old version.

Was trying to replace my worn favorite shorts purchased years ago. The new version is lighter weight, larger and cheaper feeling. Id return them if I could.

Best Shorts Ever

Bought these as a gift for my father, who has been looking for a pair of quality shorts for a long time. His eyes lit up when he saw them, and to say he loves them is an understatement. Product changes, beware. Do not buy!

Buying Crazy Shirts Twill shorts for 20+ years. Most recent purchase, product has drastic changes. Material is much thinner, flimsy and poor quality. Purchased XL which is now 1.5 inches smaller in waste than previous and what XL Twill shorts I purchased just 3 months ago. Crater Dyed has been gray for 20 years I have been purchasing, and still pictured same gray color. Pair I received is tan color, not gray, still labeled Crater Dyed. NOT! Looks like a change in supplier and far inferior product for same pricing. Will no longer purchase if this is what Twill shorts have become.

We sincerely apologize you were not completely satisfied with the quality of the shorts. We want to share that our shorts undergo a new dyeing process that infuses the dye into the fabric compared to the previous process, where the dye would sit atop the fabric. Due to this and the compaction process of the t-shirts, we advise the fabric will begin to soften/plump after a few washes. BTW, I intended to get items in the Pine Dyed color in the catalog I got in the mail. It was in the same color line as the lighter green color, only darker. I have several shirts that would have gone beautifully with that color. The new dark Pine Dyed is ok but I really miss the lighter version.
